Lawrence “Larry” Flanagan of Brockton passed away peacefully at West Roxbury Veterans Hospital after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on October 13, 2021 at the age of 73.
Born June 30, 1948 in Quincy, Larry is the son of the late Robert Leo and Marjorie (Donadini) Flanagan, the loving father of Jessica Hatch and her husband Chris of West Bridgewater, MA, and Jennifer Flanagan of Brockton, MA. He was a proud papa of Matthew, Kaytlin, Zackery, and Colton Hatch.
Larry is survived by his brother Robert Flanagan and his wife Sandy of Brockton, MA Paul Flanagan and his wife Donna of Plymouth, MA/Naples Florida, Michael Flanagan and his wife Nancy of Plymouth, MA, Kevin Flanagan and his wife Nancy of Raynham, MA, and sister Maureen Wright of Brockton and her former husband Jeff Wright of Taunton, MA. Beloved nephew of Ann (Donadini) Galvin of Brockton, MA, and former husband of Patricia (Couite) Flanagan of West Bridgewater.
Larry was devoted, loving, and generous uncle to his many nieces and nephews and like a Papa to his bonus grandchildren. Larry was a dear cousin and a loyal friend to so, so many.
Larry proudly served as a decorated Sergeant in Vietnam with the US Army K 75th Rangers 1st Bgde 4th Div LRRP (Long-Range Reconnaissance Patrol). He enjoyed his many years working for Entenmann’s, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and his annual Cape Cod vacation with family and friends. He grilled a mean, finger-licking, delicious “Larry Burger,” and made the best french toast and bacon breakfasts! Larry will be greatly missed by many but never forgotten.
Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt.28) West Bridgewater on Monday, October 18th at 10:30AM thence to St. Ann’s Church, 103 North Main St., West Bridgewater where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 11:30AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00-5:00PM
