March 1, 2024, Victor Clifford Dalton, a man of faith and valor, departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, generosity, and contagious laughter. Born on May 8, 1948, in Cartersville, Georgia, Victor was a beacon of strength, resilience, and compassion.

His adventurous spirit was evident from a young age, as he lettered in track at O’Keefe High School in Atlanta. His bravery and dedication were further demonstrated during his service in the U.S. Army as a Ranger, where he was twice wounded in Vietnam and honored with two Purple Hearts. As Victor once stated, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”

After serving his country, Victor channeled his dedication and adventurous spirit into his studies, earning an engineering degree at Southern Tech. He then began a rewarding career with the Southern Company until his retirement. Yet, Victor’s dedication was not confined to his professional life. He was a compassionate and active member of the Light House Baptist Church in Dawsonville, Georgia. His generosity and selflessness were evident in his volunteer work with Gideons International and his participation in numerous mission trips.

Despite his busy schedule, Victor never missed an opportunity to explore the great outdoors, reflecting his adventurous spirit. Victor’s life was a testament to the power of faith, the strength of courage, and the impact of a generous heart.

He is survived by his brothers, Donald Dalton of Sandy Springs, Georgia, Albin Dalton of Hapeville, Georgia, and William Dalton of Dallas, Georgia. Victor also leaves behind 18 nieces and nephews, numerous grandnieces and nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Katie Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Dalton; and his three sisters: Dorothy Satterfield, Irene Rider, and Naomi Dalton.

Victor’s life will be celebrated with a visitation on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 3:30pm EST at McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Georgia. The service will follow at 4:30pm EST, with a reception at 5:30pm EST. His interment will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 10:30am EST at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia.
